PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - Police in Prince George County say a man has died in a crash on Friday morning.
Around 6:40 a.m. on Dec. 5, officers responded to the 4500 block of Courtland Road for a collision involving a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2006 Toyota Camry.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the Silverado was driving westbound on Courtland Road when the driver lost control.
The Silverado then crossed the centerline of the roadway, striking the eastbound 2006 Toyota Camry. The Silverado driver was not injured.
The operator of the Toyota Camry, identified as 59-year-old Douglas E. Smith of Mechanicsville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, weather and road conditions are considered contributing factors to the crash.
