A woman from Jarrow has been given a three year dog ban after her Shar Pei was found with skin issues amid awful living conditions. Lynn Terese Woodhouse, 61, of Wilberforce Street, was also given a 12-month community order and ordered to pay £514.

The case, which concluded at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court on November 25, was brought to court after an RSPCA officer visited Woodhouse's home to check on the condition of the male dog, named Mr Bojangles, after she had been advised on multiple occasions to take him to a vet for his severe skin condition.
