Cherie Shavon Ingram was last seen alive on March 27, 2021, after she was kicked out of a Gastonia bar with her boyfriend, Keon Latroy Pernell, because Pernell assaulted her, Assistant District Attorney Zach Holeve said, speaking to a jury on Wednesday.

On April 12, 2021, Ingram, 38, was found dead. She had been stabbed in the neck, and she was wearing the same clothes she had on when she was seen with Pernell, Holeve said.
