BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Florida man who used to live in Hampden and Orrington was sentenced in federal court for tax evasion.

Paul Archer, 46, will spend two years in prison for evading about $1 million in federal taxes, according to the Department of Justice.

From 2013 to 2015, records show that Archer earned millions of dollars through an online marketing business for software installation of computers.

Court documents say that in 2016 Archer concealed and transferred assets through two LLC’s and used third-party bank accounts to avoid paying tax debt.

Records also show Archer continued to do this between 2018 and 2019.

In 2020, Archer filed for bankruptcy and falsely claimed $50,000 in a single checking account with no connections to any other LLC, according to authorities.
