THE VILLAGES, Fla. (WCJB) - JB Bynum’s first year as Dunnellon’s lead man in charge turned out to be an uplifting success. Bynum became the successor to the Dunnellon football architect, Tommy Sutton, who made Dunnellon into a top-level program in 3A.
On Thursday afternoon, Bynum ended the regular season at 4-6, but won the next four to be crowned the Class 1A-3A FIT state champions after defeating North Miami Beach, 13-7.
It is a blessing for Bynum as he played as a Tiger, then took the job as offensive coordinator and QB coach at his alma mater. Now, he brings home some hardware to Dunnellon.
The Dunnellon football program has won eight or more games for the past three years.
