Saraland High will play in its fourth straight Class 6A state title game tonight at Birmingham’s Protective Stadium.

The Spartans have had two Mr. Football winners (Ryan Williams and KJ Lacey) during their stretch of success and have two more candidates this year (Jamison Roberts and DeShawn Spencer).

Coach Jeff Kelly has won 158 games in 15 years at the school and 205 in 22 years as a coach overall.

However, he said the secret to this year’s 13-0 season comes down to one person and one group of players: veteran assistant coach Rotch Dungan and the underrated offensive line.
