A search is underway for several children after a Lawrence County house fire killed two people.
Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood said firefighters were called to a structure fire in the Hillsboro community around 5:25 a.m. Friday morning. The fire was extinguished by 9:30 a.m., but the debris is too hot for responders to do a thorough search of the property.
The parents killed in the blaze had three children, ages 10, 7, and 6, who are unaccounted for. Another child also regularly stays at the home. Norwood said officials are in touch with the school to confirm if the other child was there today.
