A body has been pulled out of the water near Media City in Salford after police and emergency services closed off the area.

Multiple vehicles from Greater Manchester Police and forensic officers have been deployed to the scene in Salford Quays since the grim discovery earlier this afternoon.

Salford Quays in Greater Manchester is home to Media City, where BBC and ITV productions, including BBC Breakfast, Match of the Day, Coronation Street and The Voice UK, are based. Photos from the scene show forensic officers dressed in white overalls leaving and entering a blue tent as they investigate the incident.
