A Brockton man was arrested and charged for allegedly trafficking fentanyl from his home while on house arrest for two pending drug cases in state Superior Court, federal prosecutors said.
Edmund Kelsey, 26, was charged with count of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, US Attorney Leah B. Foley’s office said in a statement.
According to prosecutors, Kelsey is currently in state custody and will appear in federal court in Boston at a later date.
On Oct. 30, during a search of Kelsey’s home, he ran inside, and allegedly tried to flush hundreds of grams of pills down the toilet, the statement said.
A sample of the pills tested positive for a fentanyl/methamphetamine compound, and Kelsey was immediately taken into custody, prosecutors said.
