GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the sudden loss of one of their own, K-9 Ash, who suffered “an emergency medical condition” on Thursday evening.

The beloved K-9 was just three years old.

Ash was born on Jan. 4, 2022 and raised in Slovakia, and was then brought to the United States to start training at Excel K-9 in Hiram.

He was partnered with Geauga County Deputy Michael Wilson, and the duo graduated K-9 school together on Aug. 9, 2024.

His four paws enforced the laws with narcotics detection, apprehension, handler protection, evidence recovery, and tracking, GCSO listed,
