A former Birmingham doctor who has been charged with dozens of alleged sexual assaults against his patients worked at two Midlands hospitals.

Nathaniel Spencer, 38, who is British, is due in court next month to face 15 counts of sexual assault and 17 counts of assault by penetration.

He is also charged with nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration, and one count of attempting to assault by penetration.

It follows a complex investigation by Staffordshire Police's Public Protection Unit into reported offences at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, in Stoke-on-Trent, and Russells Hall Hospital, in Dudley.

He previously worked at the University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) NHS Trust between August 2017
