TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) — WALB has confirmed with the GBI that an officer-involved shooting occurred in Tifton Friday morning as officers attempted to execute a search warrant.

According to the Tifton Police Department (TPD), two officers were shot during the attempt; both are currently in stable condition.

The suspect barricaded themselves inside a home near the 800 block of Lee Ave. Details surrounding the suspect are still unknown at this time.

TPD is leading the investigation, and multiple surrounding law enforcement agencies have responded to assist. The GBI confirmed to WALB that TPD requested their assistance in investigating the incident.
