Two Paterson women wanted on active criminal warrants were arrested during an early-morning sweep on Wednesday, Dec. 3, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office said.

Detectives from the Fugitive Warrant Division conducted the operation in Paterson, according to Sheriff Thomas Adamo.

Detectives first arrested Shakira Sparks, 23, at her home in Paterson, the sheriff said. Sparks was wanted on an active Passaic County Superior Court warrant charging her with second-degree distribution/manufacturing of drugs within 500 feet of public property, Adamo said.

Detectives then arrested Fontaza Cameron, 22, at her Paterson home, authorities said. Cameron was wanted on an active Paterson City criminal warrant for second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary to commit an offense within, third-degree terroristic threats, and fourth-degree simple assault, according to the sheriff.

Both women were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Passaic County Correctional Hub in Wayne, authorities said. Adamo said the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting public safety and ensuring that individuals wanted on criminal warrants are brought before the justice system.
