A Kitchener killer admits he violated a court order just hours after being released from custody.

Kevin Koehler, 61, pleaded guilty Friday in Kitchener court to breaching an order to not buy or drink alcohol.

Convicted in a Kitchener manslaughter, Koehler was released on Oct. 16 after completing his sentence.

Six hours into his newly found freedom, Koehler went to the LCBO on Victoria Street North in Kitchener and bought one litre of Kelly’s fortified wine, court was told.

He said he bought the booze not for himself but for “a drunk downtown.”

An LCBO employee recognized Koehler from a Waterloo Regional Police public alert that said he had been released and has a history of violence. He killed four people in a 28-year span.

The employee did not report the sighting to a supervisor unt
