LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The man convicted in the killing of a construction worker on Interstate 264 four years ago will spend life in prison.

A jury found Keyshaun Stewart guilty on five charges, including murder, in the November 2021 shooting.

Stewart killed 37-year-old Fred O'Bannon Jr., a construction worker who was in the area.

He was also convicted of attempted murder of a Louisville Metro Police officer at the same scene.

Stewart's defense argued he is mentally ill, and would not receive the proper care in prison and asked for lesser time.

But the judge sided with the jury for a life sentence.
