LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The United Way of the Bluegrass kicked off its 10th annual Sweet Dreams Project with volunteers from across Central Kentucky assembling bags filled with pajamas, books, food and hygiene products for students ahead of winter break.
Laura Carpenter and her co-workers from Valvoline volunteered to help pack the bags with basic necessities.
“Imagine needing a clean pair of pajamas or a warm pair of pajamas around the holiday or the winter season or needing a toothbrush and toothpaste as they go home from school during the holidays,” Carpenter said.
