KENORA — Nearly two years after losing scheduled passenger air service, Ontario’s westernmost city will see a return to service on Jan. 15.

The Kenora Airport Authority announced this week a new partnership with North Star Air to begin regular direct flights between Kenora and Thunder Bay.

North Star will offer flights five days a week in and out of Kenora, company marketing coordinator Alan Corbett told Newswatch on Friday.

Securing scheduled service from the Thunder Bay-based North Star wraps up “quite a lengthy process” of restoring regular passenger flights, Kenora Airport Authority CEO Shari Gentes said.

Kenora, Fort Frances and Dryden all lost scheduled passenger service at their airports in 2024 when Bearskin Airlines withdrew .
