FITCHBURG, Wis. (WKOW) -- A nonprofit that supports people with Down syndrome and their families is preparing to move into a new home in the Madison area.
GiGi's Playhouse has broken ground on a new facility on Botanical Drive in Fitchburg. The organization currently operates out of a space on Monona Drive in Madison. Leaders say the new site will be larger and allow the nonprofit to expand and enhance its programming.
"This groundbreaking is more than just a building. It truly is a belief in the power of the Down syndrome community and the importance of it. This is going to give us an opportunity to serve more people in a more impactful way," said Kelly Antonson, executive director of GiGi's Playhouse Madison.
