SOUTHEAST Mo. (KFVS) - SEMO Food Bank expands its disaster-response capabilities with two new relief trailers purchased through a Feeding America grant, aiming to deliver food, water and essential supplies faster to communities hit by severe weather across southeast Missouri.
The trailers operate alongside the food bank’s existing disaster-response truck, giving teams more flexibility during emergencies and allowing supplies to be staged directly in hard-hit neighborhoods.
“When people think of the food bank, disaster response is probably not something that comes to mind. But it’s an important part of what we do,” said Clay Schermann, chief development officer for SEMO Food Bank.
