A man was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Friday in the 2023 murder of Franklin Bruner.
Robert Rudichar, 46, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was immediately sentenced to serve his time in the the Department of Corrections, to be served consecutively to a prison sentence he is currently serving out of New Mexico. The victim and his assailant were from Pueblo.
He will also be required to complete a five-year parole period upon release.
Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Berkley Avenue on July 29, 2023, after a report of a suicidal person and an additional report that the defendant called his father and admitted to shooting his friend, Franklin Bruner, and his dog, according to a release by the 10th Judicial District Attorney.
Officers entered the home and found.
