FORT WORTH, Texas (WNDU/AP) - The Notre Dame men’s basketball team erased a nine-point halftime deficit and outlasted TCU 87–85 in overtime on Friday night after losing star guard Markus Burton to injury in the first half.
Burton went down a little over halfway through the first half after he landed awkwardly with his left foot while scoring a basket. According to our reporting partners at the South Bend Tribune , a Notre Dame basketball spokesperson said Burton was still being evaluated at halftime.
Freshman reserve Cole Certa ignited the Irish comeback in the second half, burying four 3-pointers during a 17–4 burst that flipped a 45–36 halftime deficit into a 50–47 lead.
TCU (5-3) led 75-74 with 30 seconds left in regulation, but the Horned Frogs missed three chances to close it out
