A section of westbound U.S. Highway 50B will be closed this weekend, the Colorado Department of Transportation announced.

The closure is due to drainage pipe installation as part of the Interstate 25 and Highway 50B interchange project. It will affect the area between Hudson Avenue/Bonforte Boulevard and I-25 from 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, through 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, according to the department.

During the closure, motorists will not have access to northbound I-25 from westbound U.S. 50B. A detour will be in place for those needing to travel north.

Detour details for westbound U.S. 50B to northbound I-25 include using Bonforte Boulevard and Jerry Murphy Road to head north to Colorado 47, then traveling west on Highway 47 to access northbound I-25, according to the announcement.
