SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Wells Fargo is giving Southeast Technical College a $2 million grant to help construct a homebuilding lab on campus and get more students into the construction workforce.

As Sioux Falls continues to grow, housing remains at the top of the minds of many. While Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken said they’re trying to help development as much as they can, if construction companies can’t find workers, not enough can be built.

“And we rezone stuff on a Tuesday night, like, no problem. We cut through all of the red tape. But what we can’t do is crank out the workforce. That’s not the city’s role, really. We rely on Southeast Tech, and places like this,” TenHaken said.
