SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Friday was a difficult day for the Children’s Home Society of South Dakota’s Shelter for Family Safety. Leaders said a sprinkler pipe burst Friday morning, causing flooding in parts of the building.
Roughly two and a half inches of water covered a case-manager hallway and even went into their basement. Workers were left adapting to the situation to complete job functions and scrambling to replace what was lost before the holidays.
It began at around six in the morning. Water began pouring through the ceiling and fire alarms were set off.
