Operations for IndiGo, the country's largest airline, showed no signs of improvement for the fifth consecutive day on Saturday. Passengers were seen stranded overnight at Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai airports. The number of cancelled flights in the previous four days has exceeded 2,000, directly affecting approximately 300,000 passengers.
An additional 25–30% more IndiGo flights may be cancelled or delayed today and tomorrow. Over the past four days, an average of 500 flights have been delayed daily, which could increase to 600 on Saturday and Sunday. This is because Saturdays and Sundays see a third more flights than other days.
IndiGo says it will take until December 15th for flight operations to return to normal. Meanwhile, the Railways has added 116 additional coaches to 37
