PORTLAND, Ore. — If you’ve driven down West Burnside Street in downtown Portland, chances are you’ve noticed the double-decker bus that looks straight out of London.
That’s because it is.
Ray Maestas, owner of Rachel & Rose, had the bus shipped across the world before it eventually landed in Southern California.
“They had a tracking number on it, so every morning I’d get up, check my phone — it was in the middle of the Atlantic; now, it’s in the Panama Canal; it was in the Panama Canal for a long time — and then, it landed in Oxnard," Maestas said.
Originally from Portland, Maine, Maestas said the bus was then driven up from Oxnard before making a home on Burnside.
