Homestead sank five 3-pointers in the opening minutes against Carroll on Friday and never slowed down, hitting 15 treys as it defeated the rival Chargers 77-29.
“We moved the ball really, really well on offense and got everybody involved,” said Homestead senior Gabby Helsom, who hit five 3-pointers, one of them a buzzer-beater going into halftime, and finished with a game-high 21 points. “We were unselfish and were trying to get the best shot for Homestead, and ultimately that’s how we’re going to win big games.”
