Thiruvananthapuram: In a major relief to the BLO’s and those yet to fill the SIR forms and complete the registration procedure, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Kerala by one week, with January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.

The decision has been welcomed by all political parties in the state.

Under the revised schedule, the enumeration period will now continue until December 18, with the draft electoral roll to be published on December 23. Claims and objections can be submitted from December 23 to January 22, 2026, and the final electoral roll will be published on February 21, 2026.
