WASHINGTON — Friday’s snow added to the winter magic at the DowntownDC Holiday Market . Many shoppers there said they are on a strict budget this year, and are thinking hard about where they are spending their money.

"Yeah, I'm not shopping at Amazon this Christmas,” said Chelsea Meiners, who was shopping for locally made cards and baby clothes for her little one on the way." Given everything that's going on with our economy, I think it's really important to invest in our local community."

This is the 21st year of the market, and it is bigger than ever. With 119 vendors offering live entertainment, food, and of course gifts.
