BIRMINGHAM — The AHSAA Super 7 state championships wrapped up with an electric display of playmakers in the Class 6A title game. But it was the Clay-Chalkville's playmakers that prevailed in the 38-21 romping of Saraland.
Clay-Chalkville made the noise early on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Aaron Frye rolled out to his left side and delivered a 66-yard strike to Jacari Johnson to get on the scoreboard first. Four different Cougars got home to Saraland QB Jamison Roberts in the first quarter, limiting the Spartans potential on offense.
