A rocketing rise in new homes to be built in Nuneaton and Bedworth is 'dramatically unfair'. That is what councillors want Nuneaton and Bedworth to tell the Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his government.

Under plans unveiled by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, the borough's target for new homes to be built each year will be 737 - way above the initial target of 421. This current figure is in the council's revised borough plan , which is about to be officially adopted.

The controversial document initially included a 4,000 'overspill' homes from Coventry as well as potential housing land in Woodlands in Bedworth and Bulkington. In the revised plan, this overspill was removed and the housing target reduced. But it would have to be revised again to take
