An unprecedented number of 110 DGPs Commendation Discs have been awarded to policemen for devotion and dedication to duty at Anandpur Sahib security arrangements for 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

However, the bulk of the awards have gone to IPS and PPS officers ranking from Special DGP to DSP.

As per the orders issued by DGP Gaurav Yadav on December 3, these officers/officials have been awarded Director General of Police Commendation Disc for performing their duties with “utmost zeal, devotion and dedication”.

A senior Punjab Police officer confirmed that this mass award of the commendation disc was for the security arrangements at Anandpur Sahib in November for the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
