The NCHSAA regional final round is in the books , and a pair of Cleveland County powers will vie for state titles.

Here’s a look at players who shined during Round 5 of the postseason.

Michael Edwards, Crest: Had a touchdown run, in addition to making key receptions in the Chargers’ 39-21 win over Hickory. Crest advances to the NCHSAA 5A final, where it will take on Hunt (Wilson).

Malachi Gamble, Crest: Had a touchdown run.

Carson Grier, Crest: Hit a 39-yard field goal.

Ely Hamrick, Crest: Threw a touchdown pass and ran for another.

Romeo Sanders, Crest: Made two key receptions which moved the ball into Hickory territory, the Chargers converting those into points.

Majay Thompson, Crest: Had a 56-yard touchdown reception, in addition to a rushing TD.
