The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) , through the National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS), has announced the extension of the Pro Tem Security Certification validity from 6 months to 2 years. The move aims to support ease of doing business and ensure continuity for the telecom and ICT industry.

Pro Tem Security Certification is a temporary certificate issued for certain networking and electronic products—such as IP routers and Wi‑Fi CPE devices—by NCCS under the aegis of the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC). It allows manufacturers, importers, and dealers to continue the sale or import of products while they await full mandatory security certification.
