Building a total loss
A blaze continued to smolder midmorning Friday within the mostly charred structural remains of a major commercial building fire at the Roswell Air Center.
Shortly before 8 p.m. on Thursday, a passerby called 911 to report the roof of a structure burning. Located along Challenger Street on the east side of the air center and northeast of the terminal, the building and its contents are considered to have been a total loss, the City of Roswell stated in a notice sent to the media on Friday afternoon.
There were no injuries from the fire, which was declared as being under control by 9:45 p.m. Thursday. No employees were inside the AerSale building when the blaze broke out and there were no evacuations of other occupied buildings in that area.
