Imphal: A disturbing incident unfolded on Friday after a man’s body was discovered along the riverbanks near Minuthong Bridge on the eastern side of Imphal East district. Officials confirmed the recovery on Saturday, noting that the deceased appears to be between 35 and 40 years of age.

The Imphal East District Police Station team reached the spot immediately after receiving information from local sources. The recovery was carried out in the presence of the Mobile Forensic Unit, Imphal East, along with an Executive Magistrate to ensure proper examination and documentation.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Officer-in-Charge of Porompat Police Station said that the body has been shifted to the mortuary of JNIMS Hospital, Imphal. Authorities
