New Delhi: Pat Cummins sound ready to shake off a frustrating fortnight on the sidelines as he said he expects to return in Adelaide on 16 December. The Australia captain missed the opening two Tests of the Ashes with a back issue. after watching his side take control of the series without him, Cummins has been edging back to full fitness and insists the final boxes are close to being ticked.
He had been ready to go for the day-night Test in Brisbane but the medical team and electors eventually pulled back, wary of pushing him too soon. It meant another match of waiting, another round of rehab and Steve Smith stepping in to lead the side once again. Though Cummins say he now feels “great” and isn’t far from regaining his spot in the starting XI.
