A judge reduced bail for a 40-year-old Waimea man accused of assaulting a security guard and damaging his vehicle and robbing the night auditor of a Kona hotel.
Andrew Blake Green made his initial appearance Thursday before Kona District Judge Kimberly Tsuchiya on charges of first-degree robbery, second- degree theft, first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle, third-degree assault, and fourth-degree property damage.
Deputy Public Defender Lezlie Kiaha requested that Green either be freed on supervised release — a form of cashless bail — or that his bail of $61,100 be reduced. Deputy Prosecutor Charles Murray asked the judge to keep Green’s bail at its original level.
Tsuchiya reduced Green’s bail to $25,000 and ordered him to appear Monday
