ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — The Carthage Tigers pushed the undefeated Platte County Pirates harder than any team has this season, but fell a few yards short, falling 34-28 in overtime in the MSHSAA Show-Me Bowl Class 5 Championship Friday at St. Joseph’s Spratt Stadium.
The Pirates (14-0) entered the championship outscoring their opponents by an average of almost 39 points per game this season. That would not be the case Friday night, as the Tigers went toe-to-toe with the defending state champs, who boast no less than five Division I signees. ×
