The Met Office has issued a 'danger to life' weather warning, with Brits warned of travel disruption due to torrential rain and flooding in 32 areas.
The new Met Office alert runs from 6pm on Monday to 6pm on Tuesday. It states: " Heavy rain may bring some flooding and travel disruption in places on Monday night into Tuesday."
Low pressure systems are moving in from the west, bringing heavy rain and also cold conditions where the weather systems meet descending Arctic air. After a showery day on Monday, attention could turn to a potentially deep area of low pressure to the southwest of the UK.
Deputy Chief Meteorologist Steven Keates explains: “A deepening area of low pressure will approach the UK from the southwest later on Monday, bringing with it heavy rain and strong winds,
