Police raced to the Tower of London this morning after receiving reports that a display case containing the crown jewels had been damaged.
Crumble and custard was thrown at the display case, a protest group has claimed. Police said four people have been arrested following the incident, which happened before 10am this morning. The Jewel House has been closed while a police investigation takes place.
A statement from the Metropolitan Police said four were arrested following criminal damage to a display case containing the State Crown. The force revieved reports that four protesters threw food at the case before two left the scene.
