Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has long said he wants to be known as the governor who helps kids, and he took what Today in Ohio hosts called a heroic stand this week against the state’s morally challenged lawmakers in blocking their reversal of child labor laws.
The governor vetoed a bill that would have allowed 14 and 15-year-olds to work until 9 p.m. on school nights – at hourly rates well below what businesses are required to pay adults.
