Massachusetts residents should prepare for a weekend of changing weather, transitioning from a damp Saturday to a frigid Arctic blast late Sunday.

The National Weather Service says not to expect a lot of snow, but that a few light flurries may be seen Saturday morning with a possible mix of drizzle in some areas, mostly until noon.

With cloudy skies and cold ground temperatures, forecasters advise drivers and pedestrians to watch for freezing drizzle, which could create icy spots on the road.

“Spotty showers of snow and rain are the primary expectation this morning,” the National Weather Service forecast said on Saturday morning.
