The Donald Trump administration has announced a massive validity cut for Employment Authorization Documents, commonly known as work permits, starting from December 5. Instead of five years, from now on, the maximum validity of work permits will be 18 months. This applies to both new and renewal of EADs filed on or after December 5. But this has led to major confusion among immigrants as to whether H-1Bs are affected by it.
