Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday condemned the summons issued by the ED pertaining to his donations to National Herald and Young India, calling it an “act of deliberate harassment".
Shivakumar said the latest actions are unwarranted. “We have been fully cooperating with the investigation from the beginning. There is nothing hidden here. Despite all this, I don’t know why the ED has filed a chargesheet. There was no need for the police to register a case in this matter. We will legally fight this battle in court," he told reporters.
He said the Delhi police have instructed him and his brother, DK Suresh, to provide information by December 19. He said the only objective was to “torture" supporters of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
