New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday expressed serious concern over the growing volume of grievances raised by homebuyers in Delhi NCR and the persistent disputes surrounding redevelopment projects in Mumbai, warning that the situation is beginning to damage the credibility of the real estate sector.

A bench comprising Justices J B Pardiwala and P B Varale made the observations while hearing a long-pending dispute involving the redevelopment of a Mumbai housing society. The judges said they were troubled by the sheer magnitude of cases coming before the courts, particularly from the two major metropolitan regions.
