With sacred sorrow, the Magiskan family announces the passing of Daniel “Domion” Magiskan, who began his journey through the Western Door on November 30, 2025, the first day of Advent. Daniel was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, remembered for his strength, love of the land, and unwavering commitment to family.

Born on the ancestral homelands of Ongong Oonigamiing Nitam Anishinabeg (Aroland First Nation), Daniel grew up on the Magiskan family trapline at Ogoki and Kapikotongwa Lakes. A proud member of the Namebin (Suckerfish) Clan, he lived the teachings of his ancestors with humility and respect. He worked for many years with Northern Wood Preservers, retiring
