THUNDER BAY – Cole Swanson broke open a 2-2 hockey game with his 12 th goal of the season, leading the Thunder Bay North Stars past the visiting Fort Frances Lakers.

The Stars added two more third-period goals and went on to win 5-3 at Fort William Gardens.

Swanson and Lucas Bertolin had a pair of goals each for Thunder Bay (13-5-3), who climbed to within four points of third-place Fort Frances, with a game in hand.

Jake Van Eps, Gunnar Simon and Teagan Wrolstad scored for the Lakers.

Samuel Bunel had Thunder Bay’s other goal.

Connor Dunham-Fox had a busy night between the pipes for Thunder Bay, stopping 45 of 48 shots. Nolan Koethler took the loss in nets for the Lakers, allowing five goals on 26 shots.

Dunham-Fox was named the game’s first star.
