The comprehensive 10-year Smart Growth Action Plan has been approved by Thunder Bay city council and will continue to move forward.
The plan aims to guide the city toward sustainable growth through more than 100 actions that will strive to increase the tax base, the population, and employment opportunities.
The plan was developed by a group of industry leaders from across the city's major sectors called Task Force Growth, and a draft was presented to city council and the general public in June this year.
The City of Thunder Bay and the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC), will now move into the implementation phase with partners that include Lakehead University, Confederation College, Tbaytel and Synergy North.
