Two men have been arrested following a firearms discharge in Salford, Greater Manchester. The incident occurred at approximately 6.50pm on December 4, when police received reports of gunfire at a property on Wally Square. According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP), it is believed that a man approached the residence on an electric bike, accompanied by another individual, before discharging a firearm. During the incident, a woman in her 20s sustained a minor injury. The arrested men, aged 24 and 28, are being held on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. They remain in custody as investigations continue. Authorities have stated that there is no wider threat to the community at this time. Detective Inspector Louise Edwards from GMP's Major Incident Team commented, "Any report of a firearms discharge is shocking and is something that will never be tolerated on the streets of Greater Manchester. We have been working at pace since Thursday and we now have made two arrests as part of our enquiries. Further work is to be completed in the coming hours and days." She added, "While we are still establishing the exact circumstances, this was a dangerous act that could have resulted in a much worse or deadly outcome. No-one should feel unsafe or threatened in their own homes, and we are working to ensure those responsible face justice." Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
